My role as student mentor
As Head of Recruiting for Goldman Sachs, I spent 16 years working with secondary school children, undergraduates and MBA students. I find it easy to connect with young people and to motivate them. My goal is to get to know people as individuals and help them show the best of themselves.
As a mentor to students, I work closely with families to help with:
interview practice for pupils moving to secondary school
interview training for university students ahead of work experience, internships and full time roles
CV and application building for undergraduates applying for internships and full time opportunities
For each of these, the importance of constructive and actionable feedback cannot be underestimated. Giving feedback is one of my key strengths and has proven to be a real catalyst for improvement.
I am experienced at interviewing using a number of different interview techniques and, critically, I understand what schools, universities and employers are looking for from their new recruits.
